As a kid, Sleeping Beauty was a fun movie because of funny fairy antics and a fire-breathing dragon. As I got older, I came to appreciate Sleeping Beauty for its beautiful art direction. Maleficent, of course, is a highlight in the movie not only for her dragon form, but also her great character design and great voice. Though I very much enjoy ABC’s Once Upon a Time, I was disappointed by Maleficent’s human form. Still, at least we got her white-faced devil motif design in the Kingdom Hearts games.
